Mid-70 degrees and sunny skies, the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a backdrop, and a dedicated team of WePAC supporters assembled… sounds like perfect conditions to race for libraries and literacy! And that’s just what Team WePAC did on Sunday, October 30, raising over $10,000 for the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children. This was WePAC’s third year participating in the Generosity Philadelphia 5K. The race, managed by GENEVENTS, brings together multiple nonprofits from across the Philadelphia area for a fun, family-friendly event to raise funds for many well-deserving causes. This year, WePAC Executive Director Heather Farber and WePAC Volunteer Ron Kanter were honored as the top two fundraisers not just for WePAC, but across all 11 nonprofits participating in the event. WePAC volunteers and board members ran the course on this beautiful day, and three were medal finishers. Congratulations to Laurie Robinson and Eileen Bruckman for finishing third among women in their age groups and to Ron Kanter for taking first among men in his age group. With entertainment from Philly Elvis and a special Rocky Steps Challenge, it was an all around fun morning. Thank you to everyone who participated or supported WePAC through this event!
